Pan-Pearl River Delta Financial Services Forum
(Reminder)

    Media representatives are invited to cover the Pan-Pearl River Delta Financial Services Forum to be opened by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, on Thursday (March 23) and the opening ceremony of a welcoming dinner for forum participants hosted by the Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang, tomorrow (March 22).

     The forum, hosted by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, is to promote regional co-operation of the Pan-PRD Region in financial services.

     More than 300 officials from provinces/regions of the Pan-PRD area and Central People's Government agencies, entrepreneurs and key players in the financial services sector will participate.

     The Chief Executive will deliver an address at the opening of the forum while the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr Joseph Yam, and the Managing Director of CITIC Pacific Limited and Executive Council Member, Mr Henry Fan, will speak at the plenary session. The Chairman of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) and Executive Council Member, Mr Charles Lee will address the forum luncheon.

     There will also be panel discussions in which local and overseas financial services experts will share their insights with participants on various areas covering equity market financing, private equity investment, asset management and bond financing.

Welcoming Dinner
-----------------------

     The welcoming dinner will be held at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong tomorrow (March 22) starting at
6.30pm.  Media representatives covering the pre-dinner ceremony are requested to arrive no later than 6.15pm.


The Forum
--------------

     The forum will be held at the Asia World Expo, Hong Kong International Airport on Thursday (March 23) from 9am to 5pm.

     Media representatives covering the opening ceremony are requested to arrive by
8.45am.

     Those covering the forum and the welcoming dinner ceremony are requested to present their press identity and name cards for registration. Photographers are advised to bring along their tele-lens.

     A tentative programme rundown of the forum is at annex for your reference.
