The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will leave for Sichuan Province this Sunday (July 24), heading a Government delegation to attend the second Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation and Development Forum from July 25 to 28.
The forum theme is "Prosperity through Partnership". Mr Tsang will deliver a speech on July 25 and will then attend a joint conference for the leaders of the governments of nine provinces/ region and that of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
Government officials attending the forum include the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Frederick Ma; the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr John Tsang; the Director of Beijing Office, Mr Bowen Leung; the Head of Central Policy Unit, Prof. Lau Siu-kai; the Permanent Secretary for Economic Development and Labour (Economic Development), Ms Sandra Lee; the Permanent Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mr Clement Mak; the Director of Information Services, Miss Yvonne Choi; the Acting Permanent Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works (Environment), Dr. Michael Chiu; the Director of Intellectual Property, Mr Stephen Selby. The Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr Fred Lam, will also attend the forum as a member of the delegation.
The Chief Executive will return to Hong Kong on July 26. While Mr Tsang is away from Hong Kong, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
